{"id":112,"date":"2015-07-09T19:54:03","date_gmt":"2015-07-09T19:54:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chendricks.org\/portfolio\/?page_id=112"},"modified":"2015-07-23T05:52:27","modified_gmt":"2015-07-23T05:52:27","slug":"tl-grants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/christinahendricks.ca\/portfolio\/educational-leadership\/tl-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"T&#038;L grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are the grants I&#8217;ve written and received that have to do with work in teaching and learning.<\/p>\n<h2>Scholarship of Teaching and Learning research projects<\/h2>\n<p>See <a href=\"http:\/\/chendricks.org\/portfolio\/educational-leadership\/scholarship-of-teaching-and-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\">the SoTL page<\/a> for information on these projects.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I received $2000 as part of my acceptance into the UBC SoTL Faculty Certificate program (<a href=\"http:\/\/international.educ.ubc.ca\/sotl\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/international.educ.ubc.ca\/sotl\/<\/a>), to pay a research assistant to help with a survey I did in Arts One in 2012.<\/li>\n<li>I received $5000 from the Institute for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at UBC (<a href=\"http:\/\/ctlt.ubc.ca\/about-isotl\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/ctlt.ubc.ca\/about-isotl\/<\/a>) to pay research assistants to help with a research study on peer feedback in Arts One (2013-2015).<\/li>\n<li>I will receive an $800 matching travel grant from the Institute for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at UBC to travel to a conference in November 2015 to present the results of the peer feedback study in Arts One.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund projects<\/h2>\n<p>UBC has a grant program called the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (<a href=\"http:\/\/tlef.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/tlef.ubc.ca\/<\/a>) that provides significant amounts of money each year for projects that improve teaching and learning at the university.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I was part of team (PI: Sidney Fels, Electrical and Computer Engineering at UBC) that received a grant of $49, 992 to develop and do research on a new software tool to enhance students&#8217; use of educational videos. See <a href=\"http:\/\/chendricks.org\/portfolio\/teaching\/teaching-statement\/#educational-technology\" target=\"blank\">the educational technology section of my scholarly teaching statement<\/a> for information on the tool we are developing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other grants<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>I was either the primary applicant or the co-applicant for several grants from the UBC Vice Provost&#8217;s office to fund our Teaching Assistant Training program in the Philosophy Department<\/li>\n<li>2009-2010: $2732<\/li>\n<li>2010-2011: $5361<\/li>\n<li>2011-2012 (co-applicant): $2905<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are the grants I&#8217;ve written and received that have to do with work in teaching and learning.
